The House Un-American Activities Committee (HCUA) was a special investigative committee in the U.S. House of Representatives between 1938 and 1944. From 1945 to 1975, the Committee was a Standing Committee. Following its abolishment in 1975, its duties went to the House Judiciary Committee.[1]
