Dr. Tim Mahoney was a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives, representing the 16th district of Florida until he lost his seat in the November 2008 election.

Controversy

In October 2008, media outlets began reporting allegations that Mahoney paid hush money to a mistress to conceal an extramarital affair.[1]

Planned Parenthood

Mahoney received $2000 in lobbying funds from Planned Parenthood in 2008.

"Support Bill Ayers"

In October 2008, several thousand college professors, students and academic staff signed a statement Support Bill Ayers in solidarity with former Weather Underground Organization terrorist Bill Ayers.

In the run up to the U.S. presidential elections, Ayers had come under considerable media scrutiny, sparked by his relationship to presidential candidate Barack Obama.
