Michael Kerr

T. Michael Kerr is the current Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management. He earned his BA from Tufts University and his Masters in City Planning from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

"Kerr moved to Washington in the early 70s to work for the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. During the Carter administration he served in the White House Office of Consumer Affairs and the legislative office of the the Department of Health and Human Services."

He served eight years in the Labor Department as the deputy assistant secretary for workers compensation programs and the administrator of Wage and Hour during the Clinton administration and was most recently assistant to the secretary- treasurer at the Service Employees International Union.[1]

Obama appointment

In March 2009 Michael Kerr was nominated[2]by the Obama administration for the position of Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management in the Department of Labor and confirmed in April 2009.
