Matt Roach started writing when he was about five, started getting paid for it ten years later, but working for a Hearst affiliate would never pay the bills in boomtown.

I’m a Marine veteran of Iraq, which often brings me into conflict with Leftists who look at the state as monolithic, but I think having been a homeless combat veteran allows me to inject a lot more reality into conversations than most people born in the first world have experienced themselves.
I learned Spanish in the years I spent as a cook, so I am bilingual, but my speaking vocabulary is mostly limited to practical phrases and crude jokes. I read publications from Latin America online in order to improve and keep up with news that generally goes unreported in the US.[1]
