The Massachusetts Nurses Association

Purpose

The Association seeks to foster high standards of nursing practice, education and research, promote the health and safety of nurses and act and speak for registered nurses in Massachusetts. However they also have a clearly defined political purpose where they seek to work for improvement and availability of health care services for all people and foster involvement by registered nurses in the political process to shape sound health policies.

The Massachusetts Nurse Newsletter

The Massachusetts Nurse is a 6-yearly newsletter of the Massachusetts Nurses Association.

Mission Statement

The mission statement of the newsletter is found in their newsletter,

"The Massachusetts Nurse will inform, educate and meet member needs by providing timely information on nursing and health care issues facing the nurse in the commonwealth of Massachusetts. Through the editorial voice of the newsletter, MNA seeks to recognize the diversity of its membership and celebrate the contributions that members make to the nursing profession on the state, local and national levels."

Endorsements

In July 2008 the MNA declared their support for Senator John Kerry's re-election campaign, referring to him as "Our champion".[1]
