Standing for AD 79

In 2019 Katie Meyer stood from AD 79 for the California Democratic Party Central Committee.

I first became involved in politics when I was 17, interning for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign in 2012. I stayed engaged through the California Young Democrats as the leader of the Mills College Fem Dems. While in college, I ran a winning mayoral campaign for the City of Lemon Grove and then graduated in 2017 (with my Bachelors in Public Policy).

I currently serve as the Chair of the CYD Progressive Caucus and the Vice President of the East Chapter of the San Diego Progressive Democratic Club.

I spent the past year and a half working to flip one of the most conservative districts in the state. Our efforts were successfully able to shift Congressional District 50 dramatically and organize thousands of volunteers (of which many of whom were never politically active before), register voters, and build the pipeline for many volunteers to stay involved in the political process between cycles.[1]

We are now exactly 2 WEEKS from when ballots go out! The Campa Campaign NEEDs your help these next 2 weeks in calling and walking. This weekend is one of the last opportunities to talk to voters before ballots go out and defeat indicted Congressman Duncan Hunter. Join us this week for at least 1 shift and bring friends. We especially need canvassers at our north county events!
