Standing for AD 64

In 2019 Joseph Pinon stood from AD 64 for the California Democratic Party Central Committee on the 64th Revolution slate.

My name is Joseph Luis Piñon and I humbly ask for your vote for the Executive Board position in AD-64. For those who are unfamiliar with me I am a progressive Democrat with a strong commitment to public service. As a lifelong resident of Carson, I attended Carson public schools from kindergarten to 12th grade. In 2008 I graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a BA in Politics and History.

From May 2009 to April 2013 I served as a Commissioner on Carson’s Environmental Commission, including the last three years as the Chairman. From April 2013 to June 2015 I served as a Commissioner on Carson’s Planning Commission, including the last year as the Vice-Chairman. As a Commissioner my top priority was the safety and well being of the city residents and workers.

I am also very active volunteer in the Democratic Party and the South Bay. One of my proudest achievements was serving as a Bernie Sanders delegate in 2016. In recognition for my grassroots work I was honored in 2017 as the male Democrat of the Year for AD-64. Currently I am the Treasurer of the Progressive Democratic Club, and the former Parliamentarian of the Feel The Bern Democratic Club. I am also a volunteer teacher at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wilmington.

If elected to the Executive Board I will be in a stronger position to push for Single Payer Healthcare, worker rights, and a ban on fracking, among other progressive issues. With your vote I can make difference in AD-64 and California. Thank you for your support.[1]
