Levin describes his reaction to President Lyndon Johnson's betrayal of his campaign promise to not escalate the Viet Nam War this way: "My country, which I basically believed in, had reared up in front of me like a demonic flasher, buck naked, fangs out, vomiting napalm and shitting cluster bombs on a defenseless people."[2].

Labor for Palestine

On December 14, 2009 Labor for Palestine released an "Open Letter from U.S. Trade Unionists to AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka: Boycott Apartheid Israel".
