Doris W. Koo serves on the AARP Foundation’s Board after four decades in housing and community development. As a community organizer, Doris Koo led Asian Americans for Equality, and was founding executive director from 1979 to 1992. [1]

Doris W. Koo serves on the AARP Foundation’s Board after four decades in housing and community development. As a community organizer, Doris led AAFE, and was founding executive director from 1979 to 1992, transforming the organization into the largest owner and developer of low-income housing in New York City’s Chinatown and Lower East Side. After AAFE, Doris held leadership positions at the Seattle Housing Authority, the National Housing Trust, the National Low Income Housing Coalition, the Emerald Cities Collaborative, and eventually as CEO and president of Enterprise Community Partners.
