Carlos Martinez

Carlos Matinez is a member of LeftRoots and co-author of Venezuela Speaks! Voices from the Grassroots (PM Press, 2010), a collection of testimonios from members of Venezuela’s social movements. He is currently a PhD student in Medical Anthropology at UCSF and UC Berkeley, where he is researching political economies of health, radical health movements, and Latin American social medicine.[1]

In 2008 Carlos Matinez of Truthiness, Altanta signed an online petition “A Open Letter to Barack Obama on Iran”[2]

Anarchist book fair

Bound Together Bookstore presented the first Bay Area Anarchist Book Fair on March 30, 1996.

In April 2016 Francesca Fiorentini of Al Jazeera interviewed LeftRoots members Maria Poblet, Carlos Martinez (educator), and Ying-sun Ho (musician) on socialism over brunch. Academic Jamie McCallum was part of the group.
