Alexander Kolokotronis

Alexander Kolokotronis is an active member of UNITE-HERE Local 33 as well as a New Haven, CT resident.

This past May I participated in the “Fast Against Slow” in which I did not eat for 8 days to urge Yale University to negotiate a contract with our graduate student labor union. In New York City I was a Worker Cooperative Development Assistant at Make The Road New York, as well as the Student Coordinator for NYC Network of Worker Cooperatives. With both organizations I helped develop startup worker cooperatives as well as successfully engaged in advocacy for city government support of employee-owned businesses. In 2014, I founded Student Organization for Democratic Alternatives (SODA). With SODA I have started or aided in the creation of four participatory budgeting processes.

Currently he is a PhD student in political science at Yale University.[1]
