In July 2009 James Miller was nominated[1]by the Obama administration for the position of Member, Commodity Credit Corporation Board of Directors in the CCC.

In March 2009 James Miller was nominated[2]by the Obama administration for the position of Under Secretary Farm and Foreign Agriculture Service in the USDA and confirmed in April 2009.
