Fred Lewis is involved with Clean Up Texas Politics (a nonpartisan site that tracks and shines a light on the influence of big money in elections). Clean Up Texas Politics is part of Campaigns for People (a nonprofit that educates the public and builds coalitions for campaign and ethics reform in Texas).[1]

Lewis was mentioned in the acknowledgments of the PublicAffairs Books-published book The Hammer: Tom Delay, God, Money, and the Rise of the Republican Congress, by Louis DuBose and Jan Reid. The authors mentioned he "was a knowing guide to the Byzantine wold of fundraising and redistricting in Texas."[2]
