Americans for Democratic Action is the United States' oldest independent liberal political organization, dedicated to individual liberty and building economic and social justice at home and abroad. It was founded by Eleanor Roosevelt, Walter Reuther, John Kenneth Galbraith, Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., Reinhold Niebuhr, and former Vice President Hubert Humphrey.[1]
