Peter Molenaar


Peter Molenaar is a perpetual student and activist within politics, gardening ,art, and the labor movement. He works at Smith Foundry in Phillips Community and lives in Powderhorn Park Neighborhood. Minnesota. He is a member of the Teamster’s Union and the Communist Party USA.

CPUSA Farm Commission meeting

In December 1999, a Communist Party USA meeting was held at the May Day Bookstore in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for the purpose of re-establishing the Communist Party USA Farm Commission.

Party members present were Erwin Marquit, Helvi Savola, Jack Brown, Peter Molenaar, Morgan Soderburg, Bill Gudex, Mark Froemke, Scott Marshall, Gary Severson, Mike Madden, Becky Pera, Charlie Smith and Tim Wheeler.[1]

Mark Ritchie (now Secretary of State for Minnesota) also attended and addressed the meeting. In a written report on the meeting by Tim Wheeler, Ritchie is referred to as a "non-party friend" of the Communist Party. The report was marked "not for publication". Click here for the entire report.[2]

Communist Party MLK tribute

On January 19, 2002, the Communist Party USA newspaper, Peoples Weekly World published a signed tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr..

We salute Dr. King’s courage and vision. He saw and struggled for an America and world that can be. We pledge in his memory to work to reorder our nation’s priorities “so that the pursuit of peace will take precedence over the pursuit of war.”

Signatories included Peter Molenaar . Almost all signatories were confirmed members of the Communist Party USA[3].

Communist Party USA

In September 2006 the Peoples Weekly World[4]listed several members of the Minnesota Communist Party USA.

Bill Comiskey, Carol Sorflaten, David Bednarczuk, Dean Gunderson, Doris Marquit, Erwin Marquit, Gerald Erickson, Gina Socha, Harry McAllister, Jane Thomson, Janet Quaife, Michael Wood, Mick Gardiner, Morgan Soderburg, Mostafa Chat, Peter Molenaar, Robert Lippert, Salam Bushra.

Supporting Mark Ritchie

In 2006, four leaders of the Minnesota/Dakotas Communist Party USA - Mark Froemke, Doris Marquit, Erwin Marquit and Peter Molenaar were listed as supporters of the Mark Ritchie Minnesota Secretary of state campaign.[5]

Minnesota Coalition for a People’s Bailout

Circa September 19, 2009, Peter Molenaar signed a petition initiated by the Minnesota Coalition for a People’s Bailout entitled, Petition to Demand a People's Bailout which includes the statement, "Tax the rich, make them pay for their crisis!"[6]
