Communist Party Chelsea Clubs
In 1992, the Communist Party USA newspaper Peoples Weekly World published a May Day supplement.
Included was a list of members of the Chelsea 1 and Chelsea 2 Clubs of the New York Communist Party. Gloria Freedman was on the list.[1]
Communist Party Labor Day call
The Communist Party USA paper People's Weekly World issued a statement to mark Labor Day 1995, entitled "We honor the dead and fight like hell for the living."
Of the more than 100 endorsers listed, almost all were identified members of the Communist Party USA.
Gloria Freedman, New York, was on the list.[2].
Communist Party award ceremony
On November 4, 1999 New York State Assemblyman Richard Gottfried presented State Assembly citations to four honorees, Iris Baez, founder and president of Community and Parents Against Police Violence, Ron Daniels, Executive Director of the Center for Constitutional Rights, Elizabeth Hall, a member of the National Committee of the Communist Party USA and Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees, and Bobbie Rabinowitz, a founder of the New York City Labor Chorus at the Peoples Weekly World 75th anniversary celebrations at the Henry Winston Unity Auditorium in New York. Event co-chairs were Maria Ramos of the United Federation of Teachers and Carolyn Rummel, managing editor of the Peoples Weekly World. [3]
Gloria Freedman of AFSCME DC 37 retirees association, took up a collection.[4]
Communist Party MLK tribute
On January 19, 2002, the Communist Party USA newspaper, Peoples Weekly World published a signed tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr..
We salute Dr. King’s courage and vision. He saw and struggled for an America and world that can be. We pledge in his memory to work to reorder our nation’s priorities “so that the pursuit of peace will take precedence over the pursuit of war.”
Signatories included Gloria Freedman. Almost all signatories were confirmed members of the Communist Party USA[5].
