Drummond Pike co-founded the Tides coalition. Awarded as an Outstanding Foundation Professional, Drummond Pike helped pioneer the advent of donor advised funds in philanthropy. Through his leadership, Tides has helped increase the capacity and effectiveness of thousands of social change organizations. Pike resides in San Francisco, California. He also founded eGrants.org, a nonprofit focused on Internet fundraising. He was a founder and Associate Director of the Youth Project in Washington, DC and served as Executive Director of the Shalan Foundation in San Francisco from 1976 to 1981.[1]

Early activism

Drummond Pike was a founder and Associate Director of the Youth Project in Washington, DC, and served as Executive Director of the Shalan Foundation from 1976 to 1981. He was among the original founders of Working Assets, a telecommunications company dedicated to progressive philanthropy and political activism.

Tides Foundation

Pike founded Tides Foundation in 1976, and serves as President of Tides Foundation, Tides Center.[1] In 2009 Drummond Pike was listed as a member of the board of directors of the Tides Center.[2].

Working Assets

Pike was one of the original founders of Working Assets in 1983.[1]

Donations

Pike donated $5,000 to the Secretary of State Project in 2008.

The Organizers' Forum

As at Jan 28, 2010 Drummond Pike was on the Board of Directors of The Organizers' Forum, a group with the mission of strengthening grassroots organizations by increasing capacity and stability of their democratic structures, to link organizing networks, and to improve on the skills and strategies employed by both community and labor organizers.[3]
