The Communist Party of Maryland is affiliated with the Communist Party USA.
May Day Cinco de Mayo Greetings
1996
The following May Day greeting was included in the Special May Day 1996 Supplement of the People's Weekly World.[1]
- "In memory of Joseph P. Henderson, Steelworker, active trade unionist, Communist leader, 1912-1995. Joe brought joy and happiness to all of us. He gave us confidence that the people, united, will win. We strive to live as he lived, in the struggle for jobs, equality, peace and a Socialist USA. He was a star to steer by."
Henderson was one of the top leaders of the Maryland CPUSA, especially during the heydays of Joseph Stalin and Nikita Kruschchev
This list is dominated by the names of members of the Baltimore CP Maryland CP, though there are other regional and national CPUSA leaders also included in the list.

We celebrate his lifelong struggle for equality and against racism, for union rights, jobs and health care, world peace and socialism. We pledge ourselves to continue his fight".

In the July 14, 2003 People's Weekly World (PWW) article about the life history and death of Howard B. Silverberg, several names appeared of people who knew him and in some cases, worked with him in various groups. Not all of them have been identified as members of the CP of Maryland, and some may not be members but only acquaintances worthy of note.
- Regina H. Rosen - married Silverberg on 7/11/48 (first wife)
- Regina H. Silverberg - married name as wife of Howard Silverberg
- Jeanne Dresser - "his wife of 18 years" (re: married about 1975 - his second wife) Also known as Jennie Silverberg
- Michael Dresser - brother-in-law of Silverberg (re his second marriage)
- Milton Bates - "longtime friend"
- Joan Burns - "a neighbor", possibly with a neighbor organization he was in - Citizens for Washington Hill Baltimore
- Rosellen McDavid - "who had served with Silverberg on the executive board of Jobs With Peace (JWP)
- Salima Siler Marrion - "Maryland state legislator" ... "delivered a citation with the Maryland state seal honoring Silverberg. She recalled her political discussions with Silverberg at countless backyard cookouts by Party members. "It has enabled me to speak truth to power even in the halls of the General Assembly and to write a letter to President Bush telling him his war on Iraq is wrong," she said."
