Progressive LA: The Next Agenda Conference was held On October 20, 2001 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Los Angeles at the California Science Center.

The Progressive Los Angeles Network (PLAN) and the Institute for America’s Future will co-sponsor an important conference -- the Next Agenda Conference -- designed to celebrate recent victories, build upon Los Angeles’ progressive momentum, and link local issues with a national progressive agenda. The conference will also help solidify a more strategic and integrated progressive movement in Los Angeles.

Timed to expand the work of progressive movements amidst changing political circumstances, "The Next Agenda" conference will focus on five issue significance for the region (and nation): Housing, Living Wage, Parks and Open Space, Immigration issues related to higher education, and Secession. Participants will strategize on advancing campaigns on these issues, and local progressive leaders will present recommendations to key local elected officials in attendance.[1]
