Marilyn Bechtel Becchetti is a Communist Party USA activist.
She writes for the People's World from the San Francisco Bay Area and has been a member of the paper's staff since 1986. She has also been active in the peace movement.
Born in Iowa, Marilyn Bechtel has also lived in Chicago and New York City, and originally made her living as a professional musician.

In 2001, Marilyn Bechtel becameparty International Secretary. Marilyn worked part-time for the Northern California District and part-time for the National Office as Literature Coordinator. She has agreed to head up this important area of work. Marilyn has lots of experience in international affairs from her days at the PWW.
Endorsed Communist Party Call
On March 30 2002 the Communist Party USA paper People’s Weekly World called for a national holiday in honor of late Farm Workers Union leader Cesar Chavez. The article was followed by a long list of endorsersincluding Marilyn Bechtel, Almost all endorsers were confirmed members of the Communist Party USA.
