World Peace Council

In the late 1970s, the Information Centre of the Soviet front World Peace Council, Helsinki Finland, published a booklet naming members of the organization, worldwide.[1]

We publish in this booklet a list of members of the World Peace Council elected at the Council's Session in Warsaw in 1977.

U.S. members listed, included; Francis Williams, Well-known actress; Chairperson, Los Angeles Peace Council .

Frances Williams was listed as the West Coast Coordinator of U.S. Organizing Committee for World Peace Council (USOCWPC), giving a speech on May 8, 1976 in New York City, "First-Hand Report From Angola", Daily World, May 6, 1976, Page 14, at the McBurney YMCA, 215 West 23 Street. Youth Salute to Paul Robeson

Frances Williams was listed as the "chair" of the CPUSA-created event known as "Youth Salute to Paul Robeson", held December 16, 1978, at the Felt Forum in New York City[2].
